MEGA UPDATE!!!!

Where oh where do I start????

I've been working at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton since July 16, 2012. I was hired for permanent evenings but I didn't enjoy the work that was done and wanted something different so when I knew that someone was leaving their days/evenings/weekends shift, I jumped at it and applied for their position. I was given that position at the end of December 2012. I then started to get a bit frustrated and stuff with the days/evenings/weekends thing, and decided during Christmas vacation of 2013 that I was ready to go up to endoscopy. I loved working with 'scopes when I did my practicum in Lethbridge at Chinook Regional Hospital in the Day Procedures department and figured that it would be pretty much the same. I sent off a letter to my THREE big bosses saying that I wanted to be trained in endo and transferred up there permanently. I was told by the manager of my department that I could be trained up there, but as for being transferred, I would have to apply as any other person would once a position became available. Ok, so February 18, 2014 I started working up in endo. I began to hate it up there and since I am in a union, under my collective agreement, I am allowed to return to my former position within the first three months of obtaining a new position. I went to see one of my managers, in tears, at the end of my first month saying that I wanted to return to my former position. WHY????? It appears that two of the staff up in endo have a problem with me. They seem to think that I am childish and shit. Well.... you know what I say???? FUCK THEM!!! FUCK THEM ALL!!!! I didn't spend $8000 to go to college for 4 months, and 2 months of practicum to clean SHITTY endoscopes and CLEAN theaters like I'm from housekeeping! I miss my instrument sets, and believe it or not, I DO miss some of my co-workers. Ok, so with that being said, I return to my former position on May 20, 2014! YAY!!!! Not much else going on workwise.

Personal life? Well..... Shawn and I are doing great. Shawn has been accepted into the Culinary Arts program at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) and will start in the fall term. Me? Well..... aside from working, I am waiting to hear back from the Weight Wise Clinic at the same hospital that I work at about getting a procedure done called StomaphyX. I had open Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass done March 29, 2010, and lost 140 lbs from my highest weight. Since then, I have managed to gain 30 lbs back. My goal is to see less than 199 lbs on my bathroom scale. I went to our wonderful family doc here and asked him for a referral to the Weight Wise clinic and he wanted to know why and what my expectations were. I told him, and he said that my expectations were VERY REASONABLE and that he would be more than happy to give me the referral. Soooooooo.....now I wait.

It has also been 2 weeks since I celebrated my 41st birthday. Believe me when I tell you that I DO NOT look like I'm 41. People guess that I'm only 26 or 27 at the most. lol It's wonderful.

I have also gotten THREE new tattoos since moving up here. I guess you could say that I am a bit obsessed with a couple of book series: The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments, as they have been the basis for my THREE new tattoos. lol I have rune tattoos. My first one was the iratze rune, which is for healing, the second tat was the angelic power rune, and the third one was the fearless rune (which I actually got TODAY!!!!).

Nothing else is really new with us. All is well.

Toodles for now!
