August 31, 2018!!!! o.O

Holy crap! Where in the hell has the time gone?

I don't know when it was that I last updated this blog. Perhaps I should go look, then come back, and update from then? Ok...... *goes to look* HOLY CRAP!!!!! April 2014 was the last time I posted????? Shame shame shame. Ok.... here goes....

Nothing newsworthy happened in 2014 until almost the end of the year. My dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. Yup, the DREADED C-word.

In March 2015 my dad and my older sister went down to San Diego, CA and travelled back and forth from there to Tijuana, Mexico for my dad to have "treatments" for his cancer. My dad chose not to undergo chemotherapy, and wanted to do things "his way".

It was some time in 2015 that I FELT a "POP" in my left foot while walking back to work after dinner one evening too. My foot was then in constant pain. I had no clue what was going on, but it sure hurt.

Fast-forward to December 2015..... my dad called up Shawn (hubby) and I one evening and asked if hubby would come up and cook him a HOMESTYLE Christmas dinner with ALL THE TRIMMINGS. Of course hubby said yes! Sooooooo...... we travelled up to Grande Prairie for Christmas, cooked my dad a super awesome Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.

January 6, 2016, my world fell apart, this was the day that my dad chose to end his fight with cancer and passed away. He had been in Hospice care for only 1 night before he passed. I had talked to him the day before, but it was only like a 2 minute phone call. My heart is STILL breaking to this day.

July 2016 I was sent home from work because of a non-accomodation thing with my foot issue. I was in one of those "ROBO BOOT" things. There were certain tasks I couldn't do at work, and they just felt that it was best to send me home and make me go on Short Term Disability.

July 2016, hubby and I also got to MEET KISS!!!!!! OMFG!!!!! What a thrill that was, especially since Gene signed my "license plate" on my hooters. lololololololol Hubby got his BIG THRILL by having his pic taken with Gene! I got TONS of great concert shots (as I should have as we were in the SECOND ROW!!!!!)

September 2016 hubby and I got to MEET FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH!!!! WHOO HOO!!!!! These guys are like my fave. Ivan is like my twin (even though there are a few years in between us in age). Hubby BOUGHT THE BASS that Chris Kael PLAYED ON STAGE during the show in Edmonton. We met up with Chris after the show and got the bass, talked with Chris for a while, took some pics, and got that bass signed.

End of October 2016, I went back to work (sort of). I went back to work in the Porter Depot and was in charge of answering their phones, taking messages and stuff. This only lasted for (2 days LESS) than 6 weeks. Back to STD I went.

March 2017, hubby and I decided that we had had ENOUGH of living in a neighborhood where all you heard at night were gunshots, transit busses, drunken neighbors, fart-cans (cars with those HUGE muffler thinggies on them that make them sound like HUGE lawn mowers), and people arguing in our street about WHO had the RIGHT TO DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD because of the so-called "through traffic deterrant". We decided to look for a home of our own, and we decided to look OUTSIDE of the city. We ended up signing the initial papers to buy a place out of the city at the end of the month.

April 11, 2017, we had a home inspection done on the place we wanted to buy and we SIGNED the papers to BUY IT!!!! WHOO HOO!

June 16, 2017, we moved OUT OF THE CITY!!!!!

September 2017 I went back to work, CASUALLY! I had also applied for a job at the hospital in the SMALL city that we now live in. I never got the position, but, I was offered a casual position out here as well.

October 2017, I started working CASUALLY in the small city where we live as well as in the BIG city where we used to live.

December 2017, I applied for a TEMPORARY FULL TIME position at the hospital that I first was working at in the big city. I got a call on the 27th to say that it was mine, but if there were ANY complaints from the supervisors that I would be going back to being casual.

March 2018, I applied for a PERMANENT FULL TIME position again at the hospital. I was given the position with NOTHING but PRAISE from the supervisors. They all said that I was definitely an asset to the department and a complete joy to work with. They also said that my work had improved and had NOTHING but GOOD THINGS to say to our unit manager. YAY ME!

August 31, 2018 here we are..... just finished watching Dracula Untold on Showcase Action. Also just finished up with a 45 minute call ON HOLD with the stupid bank over some crap.

I work tomorrow, 9 to 5. I also work Sunday, 9 to 5. Monday, I have off, so does hubby. YAY! We get to spend the day together. I am looking forward to that.

Sooooo.... yeah.... this brings the world up to date on what's going on here.
