Week 1 of Practicum is DONE!!!

Well... I survived week 1 of my practicum in the Central Sterile Processing department. I was in decontamination for a whole week. Worked from 7am - 3:15pm, Monday - Friday. What a week it was. I'm glad that it's over though. I did learn a lot too. I realize that decontamination is THE MOST IMPORTANT part of the job. Without proper decontamination, surgical instruments, as well as every day hospital things like barf basins, urinals, water jugs, etc. would be VERY unclean, not to mention UNSTERILE! I had some great people showing me the ropes. Next week I'll be in instrumentation. I'll be learning how to function test instruments, assemble instrument sets for procedures, and how to package individually packaged instruments. It should be very learning once again. I am going to have to remember to take my little notebook with me so that I can jot down very important stuff. I'm looking forward to Monday coming. lol On a non school note..... I got my copy of Breaking Dawn - Part I on BluRay today. YAY!!!!! I'm thinking of watching it, but, with my luck, Shawn will come home from work early. I know he won't mind if I watch it without him, I just have to figure out how to use the stupid PS3 controller as a remote. lol Tomorrow is Sunday and that means church! YAY!!!! Hopefully I'll make it this week. I haven't been for a couple weeks. Oops. *blushes* Well... not much else going on around here, so I'm gonna scoot my yoga pants and get working on something else.
