Ok, so it's been like more than forever since I've posted on my blog. A lot has happened between the end of July and NOW! lol
August 2011 - My dad was here for a visit. We had a good time. He was soooooo happy when he hugged me and he exclaimed "I can put my arms totally around you!". YAY!!!!!
I also got my fees for college all paid up in full for BOTH semesters. YAY!!!!
September 2011 - College officially started. I was in the Central Sterile Processing program. I know, I know.... "What is Central Sterile Processing?". CSP is basically the decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments. I took classes in microbiology, medical terminology, English, computers, interpersonal communications (what a freaking joke THAT was -- it was essentially CALM 20 for College students!), and my biggest course (6 credits) was in surgical instrument processing. I worked my butt off through all my classes, and passed them all! YAY!!!
October 2011 - School, school, and more school. Add to all the schooling, STRESS!!!! Stress is NOT KEWL!
November 2011 - More school, more stress. Almost dropped out due to all the stress of the classes. I just felt like I couldn't take it anymore. *cries*
December 2011 - December marked the end of classes, the beginning of finals (of which ONLY ONE exam was scheduled during FINALS WEEK!!!!!!), and biting my nails to find out if I passed ALL my classes. I was worried about one cause my grade went from an 82 to 48.79 because I DID NOT do TWO stupid assignments. I did pass the course though. YAY!!!!!
January 2011 - Wow! That's now. Well, at least for the rest of this day. teeheehee I've been enjoying my month off from being in class. I've been sleeping waaaaaaaaaaaay too much, and I know it's because I'm dehydrated. I just can't seem to drink enough water. I am trying very hard to get all my water in too. I've been mixing up my gallon-sized Tupperware jug with Crystal Light and I try to drink at least 1/2 of it every day.
My friend Debbie's son was diagnosed with a brain tumor last Monday and he had brain surgery this past Thursday. He was in surgery for about 3 hours. The surgeon was not able to get all of the tumor, but got most of it. It was apparently an old tumor, and this morning the pathology report came back on it with it being a stage 2 glioma. Yes, cancerous. My heart goes out to the Dougall family. My prayers have been with them since last Monday too. I made Joel a card last night, finished it off this afternoon, and hubby's gone off to mail it out for me.
Got a phone call this morning (January 31) from the manager of the Central Sterile Processing department at the hospital (same guy who was my instructor for the surgical instrument processing class) asking me if I wanted to start my practicum this upcoming Monday -- FEBRUARY 6th! He said that I didn't have to give him an answer right now, and I did, I told him YES!!!!! This now means that I am NOT the last do go through practicum. It also means that I don't have to work on my birthday (April 5) until 23:15!!!!! My practicum now goes from February 6 to March 30! I will be done my practicum about a month BEFORE graduation!!!! o_O Woah!!!! GRADUATION???!!!! I will be OFFICIALLY GRADUATING from a HIGHER EDUCATION FACILITY!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! Go meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! My papa will be here for my grad. YAY!!!!
Oh yeah.... speaking of my papa, he had his gallbladder out earlier this month. Yes, I was worrying about him, but he made it through. He did have a complication in surgery, which meant that his laparoscopic surgery had to become an OPEN surgery. He ended up with 22 staples going up his abdomen, I had 27 with my open gastric by-pass surgery. Soooooooooooo his incision line is a little bit smaller than mine.
Sooooooo..... with all that being said, that's been the past 5 months in the Reader's Digest condensed version.
Thanks for reading!!!
